The Braveheart Walk for CHD Awareness is more than just a fundraising walk, it is an opportunity for individuals and families that have been touched by congenital heart disease to come together, to connect or reconnect and to celebrate all the challenges overcome. For so many others of you, who have always wanted to support your family member or friend while they were dealing with the difficulties of having a child diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, this is a wonderful opportunity to do so. We hope that you will take part by joining the walk, by volunteering your assistance, or making a donation to support this walk.

June 9 2013 Gutsy Walk for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada: Get a team together or meet new people to join us at the Halifax Waterfront behind the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on June 9 for the Gutsy Walk to fund Crohn's and colitis research. June 9 Hope for Wildlife Book Sale. The Hope for Wildlife Society will be holding a fundraising book sale Sunday, June 9th from 11am-3pm at Cole Harbour Place. There will be 100's of books for sale plus free coffee, tea and snacks, a bake sale, face painting and live wildlife displays. Admission is free.

June 22 Join the Uniacke Fire Dept for it'??s Annual Firefighter'??s Fair. Funds raised are used to purchase equipment for the department. This year starting Friday, June 21 at 6:00pm, bring the family for fair rides big and small, carnival games, booths and a canteen. End Friday night with an amazing fireworks display starting at dusk. Sat June 22 begins with our parade at 11:00 and at starting at noon the fairgrounds are open again until 6:00pm. Saturday will also host our first ever firefighter challenge.
