Grape juice recalled

Loblaw is voluntarily recalling some of its President's Choice White Grape Juice.

The company says some 1.36 litre bottles of the juice could contain undeclared sulphites, which could pose a risk to those with sensitivities or allergies.

The affected product was sold nationally at Loblaw stores and has a best before date of April 17, 2014.

Loblaw says it's pulled the remaining bottles from its shelves.

No customer complaints or incidents have been reported.

Loblaw says the source of the issue has been determined and corrected.

You can return affected product to any Loblaw store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

Sydney woman killed in crash

An 18-year-old Sydney woman is dead after a crash in Reserve Mines

Police say she was in a vehicle that lost control on Lorway Street a little after 12:30 last night.

The vehicle left the road and wound up in a brook.

Two others in the vehicle were able to escape, but the woman was trapped.

Emergency crews eventually freed her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's not clear who was driving.

The woman's name isn't being released until her family can be notified.

Lobster glut forces C.B. fishermen to tie-up

Most lobster boats in Cape Breton's Inverness County are expected to remain tied up today, due to a glut of lobster in the market.

Gulf Nova Scotia Fishermen's Coalition President Leonard LeBlanc says buyers from Pleasant Bay to the Canso Causeway are inundated with lobster.

He expects fishermen will return to the water after the weekend.

Candian warship to take part in Battle of the Atlantic commmemoration

National Defence Minister Peter Mackay announced yesterday that HMCS Iroquois will participate in a commemoration of the Battle of the Atlantic in the British port of Liverpool on Sunday.

MacKay noted the honourable and proud service the Royal Canadian Navy, Merchant Navy, and Air Force provided during what proved to be the longest campaign of WWII.

The guest of honour for the ceremonies, which will include a parade and WWII era aircraft flyby, will be the Princess Royal.

Approximately 3,000 Canadian seamen lost their lives in the effort to keep supply lines open to Allied troops across the North Atlantic.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford denies crack smoking allegations

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says he doesn't use crack cocaine and isn't a crack addict.

Ford issued a carefully-worded statement yesterday, addressing a reported cellphone video that appears to show him smoking crack cocaine.

He adds that he can't comment on video he hasn't seen.

Pittsburgh punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Final with a 6-2 win over Ottawa last night. The Penguins win the series 4-1. James Neal had three goals and an assist for Pittsburgh.

At the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon:

The Portland Winterhawks edged the London Knights 2-1. The Winterhawks will face the Halifax Mooseheads in Sunday's final.

In Major League Baseball:

Baltimore beat Toronto 10-6. Chris Davis homered and Nick Markakis had three hits and three RBI's for the Orioles.
