A promoter who got public money for last year's Paul McCartney concert on the Halifax Commons wanted more cash from the Nova Scotia government for shows this summer _ but he didn't get it. Harold MacKay, who heads Power Promotional Concepts of Dartmouth, says he asked the Department of Economic and Rural Development earlier this year for $700,000. The money would have gone toward last weekend's concert that featured the Black Eyed Peas and another country show in August. Percy Paris, the minister of Economic and Rural Development, rejected the request, which included $400,000 for help with infrastructure costs and $300,000 for advertising.
